The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren Book Review:
Aptly named “The Unhoneymooners“, I absolutely adored reading this feel-good romance full of witty banter, funny scenes, red hot chemistry, and beloved protagonists with a hint of suspense thrown in.
I picked The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren at a time when I was in a reading slump with my mood in the dumps too. But I am so glad to tell you that this lovely book not only uplifted my mood but also sucked me out of the reading slump!
Things I liked:
This book not only came highly recommended but the hype around it had me worried if I could really enjoy it but once I started reading it, I was easily sucked in the story.
Plot and Storytelling:
The plot is simple and straight forward but the execution makes it stellar. The author’s writing style is fluid and easy to understand. Right from the first page, I connected with the characters, especially Olive who is the unlucky twin. The chaos of a wedding, the family dramatics, the sibling dynamics, and then the enmity between the hero and heroine makes for an explosive start. I sat glued to the book until the end and laughed, cried, sighed, and swooned all through!
The beautiful balance between the vacation timeline and the real world added depth to the story. Then the sudden twists and turns made the story more interesting and helped the characters grow.
The enemies to somewhat friends, then lovers, then enemies again to finally lovers sounds a mouthful but the authors shine in their narration. There are lessons learned, misunderstandings cleared, a perfect holiday experience, and a memorable love story with hilarious moments in this fantastic romance.

Always compared and found wanting, Olive’s uncertainties and vulnerabilities had me connecting to her instantly. She is even a homebody like me!
Then there is the love the twins share that will win your heart.

Ethan and his younger brother, Dane were another sibling study. While Ethan is the responsible one, Dane is carefree and easy going. For no apparent reason, Ethan and Olive become enemies and later when the misunderstandings are cleared it was eye opening.
Ethan and Olive are so fabulous together. The witty banter, the unwanted attraction, the similarities in their tastes, and then the emotional connection had me sighing in pure delight. I rooted for them all through and was left with a goofy smile at the end.
