Torn by Anna C Book Review:

I sat on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, totally engrossed as I read “Broken“. And then was left itching to read the next part. So, when Torn by Anna C got released, I jumped to read it.

Another nail biting dark thriller, Naila and Aadi’s happiness hangs in the balance as new secrets emerge. With the sadistic, and dangerous killer still obsessed with Naila, the twists just kept coming. And I sat unable to put the book down all through.

This is a novel that kept surprising me. Just when I thought everything was coming to a close, the author threw another plot twist.

I stayed emotionally and mentally captivated by this story. And now I am unable to wait even a second to read the next part!

I got goosebumps reading the inner dialogue of the killer obsessed with Naila. It made me think of the famous Bollywood movie “Darr”.

She thinks he is the love of her life but she is wrong. I know she is. But there will come a time when she will realise that there is no one she can turn to, but me. I will ensure that there will be no one left for her to turn to.”

Torn by Anna C Book Quote

The obsessed serial killer is so demented that they have created their own reality which is so frightening.

Slowly, little by little, I will chip away at her feelings of security, and when she is good and ready, I will fill her with happiness and all the things that Aadhyaman cannot give her. Simply because he does not get her the way I do.”

Protagonists:

My heart cried for Aadi and Naila. Aadi is still suffering from amnesia, and his parents are just so selfish I wanted to smack them. But I think there is a mystery here in the vast discrepancy in their behaviour towards Aadi and Akshay. So, I am eagerly waiting for the big reveal.

Aadi is the perfect son. He is responsible, loves his parents despite their biased behaviour towards him, and is willing to do anything to support them. But there were so many points where I wanted to tell him to leave these disgusting people, and go live his own life. His parents are the worst humans. Morally corrupt, conscienceless, greedy, and dangerous with no loyalty to even their own son.

I literally cried when I saw Aadi treated so badly. And then when he got emotional when the author shows how no one has ever loved him except Naila. I bawled, and sniffled so hard.

Seriously, have I left my wife all alone and come here, just to suffer all these indignities because they’re my parents? What’s the point of coming back here if one parent treats me like I’m someone else altogether and the other behaves like he’d rather wish I had been the one to die?

Torn by Anna C Book Quote

‘You love me,’ he states, his eyes inscrutable, his breathing laboured.
I nod, the bittersweet realisation hitting me just then, that I am the only person so far in his life, who has actually loved him.

Torn by Anna C Book Quote

‘Doing things for loved ones is not any trouble,’ he says.
