Of Closets and Skeletons and Other Crime Stories by Kaivalya Ramnath Book Review:

Omg I was so surprised and then absolutely pleased by this book!

When I picked up Of Closets and Skeletons and Other Crime Stories by Kaivalya Ramnath, I didn’t have any expectations. This being the debut book of the author, everything was unexplored. But right from the first short story I was sucked in and before I knew it I had devoured this book!

The writing style is simple yet so realistic that Kaivalya instantly creates a mental image of the settings, and her characters seem like people we have no difficulty in understanding.

when a truthful person tells you their story, it is the only story they have to tell—if you were to challenge their version of events, they will not change the story. They may provide additional information, true, but said information will not conflict with their core story. If you continue to push that person, insinuating they are not telling the truth, they will become angry. Because a truthful person has no place else to go. Their story is the only one they have to tell.

Of Closets and Skeletons and Other Crime Stories by Kaivalya Ramnath Book Quote

From the author who finds himself part of a perfect crime to the abused housewife to a successful lawyer who is dying, these are people with real life problems and flaws that are all too genuine. So, I lived a plethora of emotions through these short reads and every time was left shocked at the end!

Then with crisp narration, no grammatical errors, and tight story lines, this book was a pleasure to read and I absolutely adored every second spent reading it.

I will be returning to read it again in the future, it is that kind of book.

You need to have a good memory and an orderly mind to dabble in the trade of lying.”
