I read and fell in love with Author Shyambala’s unique storytelling in her book, “The Mystic Lawfirm”. So, when I heard of this new book, I jumped to read it.
Masterful planning and a unique plot:
One of the first things I loved about Shyambala’s books is that her plots are novel. I haven’t read any book similar to them. In this book too she gives a story that will feel distinctive and special.
So, seamlessly combining Indian mythology with fantasy and a nail biting mystery, this book takes readers to the time when India had just got its Independence. With a young girl who can see ghosts as the main protagonist, we go on a rollercoaster of emotions, and thrilling excitement as ghosts, soul reapers, and ancient myths merge to give an engrossing and unique plot.
Immersive world building and captivating storytelling:
Another strong point of this book is the world building. Everything is so realistic and connectable. So, nowhere will you feel like you are reading fiction. Everything felt like happening real time and I felt part of the action!
Then the author’s writing style is another shining point of this book. She knows how to captivate readers. So, I was sucked in right from the start and felt sad when the book ended!
Without unnecessary embellishments, the writing style is effective in its straightforwardness. The book is written such that every type of reader whether novice or seasoned will connect with it and enjoy it.
Short and Engaging so much so that you will want to finish it in one sitting.
I finished this book in one sitting because I could not bear to put it down! The suspense, mystery, and adventure kept me hooked all through compelling me to stay in the fantasy world of this book.
And I loved every second spent reading it!
Praiseworthy adaptation of Indian mythological figures to contemporary characters.
I have read a few books that have used Indian mythological characters in contemporary settings. But no book is like Shyambala’s Mystic books.
Her treatment is distinctive and you will experience that as you read this delightful and memorable book.
I enjoyed both of Author Shyambala’s books so much that they earned their place in Njkinny’s list of Top Underrated 2023 Book Releases!
