After reading “How the Sea Became Salty” and “How the Earth Got Its Beauty” to my kid and absolutely adoring these Puffin chapter books by Sudha Murty, I bought this one and am so glad I did!
This book is full of beautiful illustrations that instantly attracted my toddler. Then the story of how the onion got its layers and why we cry when we cut it is engaging, emotional, and fantastical with a moral. So, this short yet educational story told in a simple manner is perfect to teach kids a valuable life lesson as well as inculcate in them a love for reading.
