A friends-to-lovers romance, Hot for Love by Melissa Foster is the seventh book in “The Bradens & Monthomerys: Pleasant Hill -Oak Falls” series but still can be read as a standalone. Characters from the previous books and from other series by the author make a presence in the story but if you haven’t read their story, not to worry, you won’t feel disconnected.
Trixie Jericho wants to open her own miniature horse business but has been discouraged by everyone around her. Nick Braden is a successful horse trainer and a friend. So when he offers his ranch for her to use, she accepts and so starts a love story that has been years in the making. Trixie and Braden have been friends for quite sometime now and while Trixie crushes on him, he is unaware of her feelings. Reluctant to let love in, it is an uphill battle for Trixie to help him realize that love is not always destructive but a great healer.
The easy banter, the heavy familial bonding, spicy chemistry, powerful emotional play, and an engaging realistic story that will make you feel like you are there experiencing everything first hand, this book has everything to keep you glued to your seat until the end. I loved the companionship and emotional development between Trixie and Braden. They are people we all will relate to. They have their own fears, insecurities, demons and flaws. How they overcome them to get a happy ending is something worth experiencing.
I also learned so much about the miniature Horse business and their therapeutic uses, and loved it so much that I am hopeful of seeing one myself someday.
All in all, another engrossing romance with lots of fun and heart, Njkinny recommends this contemporary romance to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. 4 out of 5 stars to Hot for Love by Melissa Foster and hers are interesting books to read for all romance lovers.
