#BookReview–> Whitehorse Montana #2- The New Deputy in Town by B.J. Daniels
The new deputy in town, Nick Rogers is efficient but at the same time a bit too elusive about his personal information. Running from his dangerous past which is right at his heels, he thought a small town was the answer to all his problems and Whitehorse seemed the perfect place to lay low but a small town is not always as boring and stilted as it looks. Whitehorse is right in the middle of mysterious attacks on men
every saturday night, suspicious deaths, thefts that are unaccounted for and dark secrets that rule the place. There is gossip and then there is Laney Cavanaugh who is much too alluring and distracting to Rick’s plan of survival.
A perfect small town setting with believable characters, this is yet another engaging entertainer from B.J. Daniels. I loved the whole package and was thoroughly entertained. Although a part of a series, The New Deputy in Towncan be read as a standalone book which is what I did. The book gripped me from the start and held me at the edge of my seat till the last page. I could not get up until I had finished the book.
There were some glitches also like Nick’s fear of water was suddenly introduced and not developed properly. Also the closure to the Evan’s family didn’t sit well with me and left me wanting more. The mystery of Laney’s mother’s disappearance is mentioned numerous times but not developed. Maybe it is carried forward to the next books in the series and so I will have to read and learn all about it.
All in all, a value for money book which entertained me and made me fall in love with it. A book that can be read any number of times, I give The New Deputy in Towna 4 out of 5 and recommend that you read the book as well as the whole series. I definitely will! 🙂
