Lone Wolf Lawman by Delores Fossen is the first book in Appaloosa Pass Ranch series and the story starts on a high note right from the start.

I got attracted towards it after reading the blurb and knowing that it was a Delores Fossen novel. Having read her work previously I love how she brings entertaining romances with spine tingling suspense to the table.

This book is no different. The story has intense romance, equally intense suspense with an aura of danger. Weston Cade is following a serial killer and when his former lover turns out to be the serial killer’s biological daughter and her life is endangered, he is determined to protect her; even more when he learns she is pregnant with his child.

Addie Crockett is shocked when she learns that she is the biological daughter of a serial killer and the only one who, according to her killer father, can identify him, even though she seems to have no memories of him. Weston broke her heart but now he is the only one who can save her.

The plot is expertly conceived and executed. I shivered at times sensing the danger the protagonists were facing from a ruthless and cunning serial killer who is determined to stay unidentified, even if it means killing his own daughter. There is drama, a good mystery that had guessing right till the end.

There are well calculated twists and turns added in the story, many of which came as a surprise to me and had me engrossed in the book right till the end. The romance between Wes and Addie is beautifully developed and the emotional play is lovely. I kept rooting for their safety and a happily-ever-after for them. I also loved Addie’s brothers from the family that had adopted her in childhood who are all in law enforcement and devoted to their baby sister. I am eager to read their story too.

The whole mystery doesnt end with this book and I guess we will be seeing more disclosure in the next book in this series and I am eager to know more.

All in all, Lone Wolf Lawman is a crisp romantic suspense that held me captive right till the end and I enjoyed reading it. 4.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romantic suspense lovers.
