Book Review:

Broken Bonds by Karen Harper is the third and last book in the Cold Creek series. I enjoyed reading the first two books,  Shattered Secrets and Forbidden Ground and was eager to read the story of Char, the third and the only remaining spinster among the Lockwood sisters.

In this book, Char is back in Cold Creek where her other two sisters have already found their happily-ever-after and are ready to leave the unhappy memories of the town behind them and start fresh. Char, a social worker, just wants to figure out her next move and is in town for just this but is soon embroiled in a sinister mystery. Together with Matt, a local, she is determined to get to the bottom of things.

This book has great suspense and the plot is developed with ease and expertise by the author who takes us back to revisit the cousins of the Lockwood’s, the same ones who had joined a mysterious and definitely shady cult. She also wraps the stories of the three Lockwood sisters and while giving the reader a good mystery to solve also gives us a love story that had me interested throughout.

Although part of a series, the book can be read as a standalone story but it is always recommended that you read the books in order so as to understand the recurring characters better.

A great conclusion to the series, I enjoyed reading Broken Bonds by Karen Harper and give it 4 out of 5. Recommended to all lovers of romantic suspense, I look forward to reading more form karen in the future.

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in  no way influenced.
