Book Review: Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh
Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh is the second book in the much acclaimed Psy-Changeling series that features two major races namely, Psy and Changeling.
Having absolutely adored the first book, Slave to Sensation, I delved into this one right after I finished the first book and just could not keep it down until I had read it!
I have enjoyed reading this series so much that I read all fourteen books in this series twice before I could get down to writing this review because I just could not stop to write a review, I was so curious to know what happened next!
This book features the story of Faith Nightstar who is a F-Psy capable of seeing the future and Vaughn D’Angelo, a Jaguar shifter of the Changeling race. Both come together when Faith, troubled with blood soaking visions and fearing for her sanity, comes seeking the assistance of Sascha Duncan, a renegade Psy living with the Changelings. This is a tightly executed and expertly narrated story that has intense emotional play, a scorching hot romance and a plot that managed to keep me at the edge of my seat throughout.
I enjoyed meeting Sascha and Lucas again in this book and loved Faith and Vaughn. Both are poles apart in their nature and yet so suited for each other. The clash between the Psy and Changeling views on life and morality are so beautifully brought out by the author. The story is fast paced and there is a sense of excitement, danger and adventure all through with plenty of suspense and anticipation that makes this book and the series a must read and one which can be read again and again.
The world building is superb and everything seems so realistic that it had me forgetting that there are no Psy and Changelings in real life!
Not being a fan of shifter romances, I am pleasantly surprised by this book and series that has not only proven the prowess of the author but also made me a huge fan of her.
All in all, Visions of Heat is a must read and I cant recommend it enough to all the readers above the age of eighteen. 4.5 out of 5 to it from my side, go buy and read this book and this series from Nalini Singh. I have already read it twice and its spell binding narration and interest arousing capability still amazes me.
