Scorn of Secrets by B. Truly Quote
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am so glad I picked it up to read! This is a new released coming of age, young adult romance that deals with relatable social issues like harassment. A young girl’s first love story turns into heartbreak when a harrowing event leaves her traumatized.
It was the blurb that sealed the deal for me and it has been an emotional roller coaster ride all through!
Madison is the good girl. She is an honour student, a nerd, and a rule follower unlike her self-centered mother and elder sister who are all about showing off and living the good life.
Her life changes when her father is killed in cold blood and then to add salt to her already grieving heart, her mother whisks her and her sister to her new boyfriend’s palatial home in another state.
Here she meets his twin sons who are like night and day. While Justin is cute, easy going and someone she instantly likes, his twin Jackson is cocky, arrogant and a person who somehow makes her uneasy.
My Verdict:
This book grabbed me right from the start and as the story progressed, I sat glued to my seat unable to look away even for a second. So, caught up in all that was happening to Madison, I cried, yelled, raged, sighed and smiled with her, and finished this book in one sitting!
Then the characters are well developed, the story vividly narrated, and the whole experience memorable. I enjoyed this book so much. So, Njkinny recommends this honest, relatable and gripping book to all readers looking for a story that is sure to grip your heart right from the first page and keep you hooked throughout. Then the end left me wanting more and now I am itching to grab the second book.
So, 5 out of 5 stars to this page turner story that will leave an indelible mark on your heart. This book deals with sensitive issues of sexual harrassment, mental harassment, teenage pregnancy, parental indifference, and drugs, so proceed with caution.
I received this book for review from the author and the tour organizers, Xpresso Tours and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased review.
