Book Summary of Rescued by a Devil by Wendy Vella:
Rescued by a Devil by Wendy Vella Book Review:
Rescued by a Devil by Wendy Vella is the second book in the Deville Brothers series, a sizzling series full of passion, scandals and intrigue. I was intrigued by Nathaniel in the first book, “Seduced by a Devil“, where it was hinted that he had suffered heartbreak in the past. In this book, we get Nathaniel’s story.
Nathan had loved Miss Bethany Carlow and they were to be married but then she disappeared from his life without giving a reason, not only humiliating him but also breaking his heart. After three years, she is back and he is determined to not show any weakness in front of her and not let her know how her mysterious abandonment hurt him. But is she as devious and coldhearted as he thought? Or is there more to her sudden disappearance and now reappearance?
What I liked:
I loved Nathan. He is passionate, loyal, protective and such an honourable man. His yearning for the woman he loved had me going misty eyed. Bethany’s problems had me sympathizing with her but over time, I also questioned why she didn’t take Nathan into her confidence? So much heartache could have been saved this way. They both love each other and through their story, the author beautifully shows how ego, fear, and misunderstanding can sour a relationship.
It is only when they both trust each other and move beyond the lies, misunderstanding, and ego to have complete faith in each other that they win!
I sat engaged throughout the story and loved revisiting the Deville brothers, and the Raven-Sinclair clan.
The only thing that felt odd to me was the intimate scene. Its positioning in the story felt unnecessary and unreal. The story could have moved forward without it.
Apart from this, I loved reading this book and am so eager to read Michael’s story next in “Protected by a Devil“.
Conclusion:
All in all, Rescued by a Devil by Wendy Vella is a gripping, passionate, suspenseful, and enjoyable historical romance that will leave you smiling in contentment. The characters feel like family and friends, and you will feel involved in everything that is happening. Therefore, Njkinny recommends this exciting and intriguing regency romance with a love that wins over all odds and danger to all historical romance lovers above the age of eighteen. I give 4.5 out of 5 stars to it. Go read this delightful romantic suspense now!
