Things I loved:
Omg! I absolutely adored this book! It reminded me of “Heart of Obsidian” that I absolutely loved and Kaleb from that book also features in this book so it was like meeting old friends. Just like Kaleb, Canto here has been searching for his quarry for years and ultimately when he finds her, his care of her had me going teary eyed and sighing. Payal and Canto both faced cruelty and abandonment at the hands of people who should have protected them. Amidst all the hardships and torture, they bonded and their unlikely friendship had me sniffing as my heart broke for them.
Just like Kaleb and Sahara from Heart of Obsidian, Canto and Payal won my heart and have become one of my favourite couples from the “Psy-Changeling” and “Psy-Changeling Trinity” Series by Nalini Singh.
No way was he ever letting her go. He wanted to fill her life with joy to the brim then more. Wanted to love her until she expected it, until she took it for granted.”

Just when I think there is nothing more to add to the Psy-Changeling world, Nalini Singh shows her prowess as a splendid writer. She is truly the Queen of Paranormal Romance!
Her realistic and vivid world building will pull you in and even though I know this is all fiction, it seems all so real. The feeling of reality is so profound that it lingers even after finishing the book. I often find catching myself searching for Psy and Changeling people around me! LOL
The emotional play, the thrill and danger of known and unknown villains, reunion with beloved characters from Psy-Changeling and Psy-Changeling Trinity series, and a romance that will break you and then put you back together, you have to read Last Guard by Nalini Singh. It is not-to-be-missed!
The ending leaves the readers sensing more danger in the coming future and I am so eager to read the next book already!
Conclusion:
A complete package with cuteness, laughter, sensuality, determination, gut wrenching sadness, pain, fight for a happy future and the danger from evil, Last Guard by Nalini Singh has it all and then some. In my opinion, this is the best book in the Psy-Changeling Trinity series so far. A perfect read for all paranormal, scifi, fantasy romance lovers above the age of eighteen, Njkinny recommends it heartily. This one is a new entry in Njkinny favourites list.
