Then he was given this chance when he won a golden ticket. This golden ticket was part of a scheme started by the candy maker to find five chocolate lovers who would see the factory from inside.

How did Roald Dahl get the inspiration to write “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”?
First published in 1964, Roald Dahl had been fascinated by the chocolate factories who would give out chocolates to children during his childhood to taste and rate as part of their promotional strategy. The companies like Cadbury were secretive of their chocolate making methods, and used strict measures to avoid any leakage of their secrets. They also often sent out spies to learn more about their competition. So, all this proved an inspiration for Dahl to write this story when he grew up.
"In the town itself, actually within sight of the house in which Charlie lived, there was an ENORMOUS CHOCOLATE FACTORY! …It was the largest and most famous in the whole world!” – #BookQuote & #BookReview Charlie and the Chocolate… Share on XThings I liked:
"Everything in this room is edible. Even I'm edible. But, that would be called canibalism. It is looked down upon in most societies.”- #BookQuote & #BookReview Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | Roald Dahl | Children's Book on… Share on XThis book is written in the third person and vividly narrates the adventures of Charlie in the chocolate factory. Roald Dahl’s writing is simple and he invents his own vocabulary to make the story more interesting, and to give his characters more colour. The eccentric Willy Wonka is shown as a man with unexpected mood swings, and who uses unconventional words like “snozzwangers” that are funny and highly entertaining. Then the plight and difficulties of Charlie’s family who are dealing with poverty is also shown sensitively through the author’s engaging writing.
"Mr. Wonka: "Don’t forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he wanted."Charlie Bucket: "What happened?"Mr. Wonka: "He lived happily ever after.”- #BookQuote & #BookReview Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | Roald… Share on X "I've heard tell that what you imagine sometimes comes true." – #BookQuote & #BookReview Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | Roald Dahl | Children's Book on #NjkinnysBlog Share on XI have enjoyed reading numerous of Roald Dahl’s works. And this is among his better works which entertains as well as teaches.
I felt sorry for Charlie and his family who are poor but still determined to live happily within their means. Then I was highly entertained by the eccentric Willy Wonka. And loved the tour of the chocolate factory.
I also loved the wide eyed delight and curiosity of Charlie while in the chocolate factory. And also enjoyed the interesting way in which Dahl described the chocolate factory with its many different kinds of candies that were everywhere.
So, this is a must read book for children as well as adults. It is guaranteed to give you a few hours of solace from your daily problems. So, I give 4 out of 5 stars to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. And Njkinny recommends this classic children’s book to everyone.
