My Review:
Entangled Moments by Dori Lavelle is a novella with a punch. It tells the story of Carlene who lives in a homeless shelter and is guilt ridden. Something happened to her a few years ago which changed her forever. From a sure and happy woman she became a shell of her former self with no goals in her life and always a sense of a heavy burden of guilt on her shoulders.
It is in this state that she meets a stranger in a church, where she has gone to seek redemption, who somehow affects her like no one has affected her in a long time.
The story starts slowly but soon picks its rhythm. Dori quickly builds an atmosphere of secrecy and tension between Nick and Dori with a simmering attraction in the background which both are trying their level best to ignore.
The characters are beautifully woven and are able to touch the reader’s heart with their heart felt emotions. The attraction between Nick and Carlene is sensuous and I was left fervently hoping a happily ever-after for them along with a killer curiosity about the dark secret that Carlene is hiding.
This is a quick and fast paced novella that will keep you on the edge of your seats and like me hopefully you will also feel compelled to finish it in one sitting! 🙂
The only downside or a disappointment for me was the cruel cliffhanger which left me hanging with an itch to read the next book which is yet to release!
Dori gives the reader a passionate story of love lost and found with life destroying difficulties in between and introduces us with people who are flawed, have made mistakes in the past but are now trying to start a new life.
A sweet story and a compelling narrative, Entangled Moments gets a 4 out of 5 from me and a recommendation that you read this book while I wait eagerly for the next book in this series. 🙂
