Book Review:
I just love reading fairy tales and if I find that a book is even loosely based on a fairy tale, well, I just have to go and read it, even if it means jumping my scheduled reads!
Second Chance Cinderella by Sharon Kleve had me reliving the excitement I feel when I know that the magic of true love is about to happen!
I loved the name which defintely has the keyword that had me accepting to read the book even when I wasn’t accepting new books. Then when I saw the cover, I loved it! Beautifully portraying a happily in love pair with the Fairy Godmother’s magic pumpkin carriage and famous the glass slippers, it is both eye catching as well as a promise of a magical romance.
The blurb is also interesting and grabbed my attention.
Four girlfriends wish for their own happily-ever-after but are conscious of the flaws in their appearances. Wishing to be just like Cinderella who transformed into a beautiful and confident woman for one night and found her Prince Charming, their wish is granted when they jokingly wish on a magic locket, never thinking that it is truly magical!
This is the first book by Sharon that I have read and I loved her writing style. She was able to carry forward a story that started two books before and that too, by two different authors and never even for a instant did I feel like I was missing something. I loved her simple sentence construction which despite its simplicity was able to hook me and had me eagerly turning the pages.
The characterization is expertly done. I met Raven and was instantly drawn to her. She is someone I could relate to and felt like I already knew her. Her other three friends are just introduced here and still I feel like I know them and am eager to read their stories too. Quinn is a hero reminiscent of the fairy tale Prince Charming and had me smiling contentedly knowing that he was the right choice for Raven. I loved their chemistry and feel that they are made for each other.

Although, I absolutely loved the book but still I feel that it ended too soon. The characters could have been given more depth and the story expanded to add more challenges which definitely would have made this a more entertaining read. However, all this can be attributed to my love for the characters. I just didn’t want to leave them and would love to read more about them in the future books.
All in all, Second Chance Cinderella is a feel good romance and a quick read that will leave you with a goofy smile and a heartfelt happiness of witnessing two people get their HEA. 4 out of 5 to it and strongly recommended to all romance and fairy tale lovers. Having read and enjoyed this book, I will surely checkout the other books in this series and more books by Sharon Kleve.
I received the book from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
