Bad News Cowboy is the third book in the Copper Ridge trilogy, a sexy new contemporary romance series featuring a small-town setting and gorgeous cowboys finding love unexpectedly. Bad News Cowboy released July 28, 2015 from Harlequin and it can be read as a standalone.

~Book Review~
Bad News Cowboy by Maisey Yates is the third book in this series but the first that I have read both in this series and by the author. The cover is beautiful and eye catching and it was this that first attracted me towards this book. The blurb again is interesting and had me wanting to read the book.
Although, this one is the third book in a series but still it can be read as a standalone.
The author’s writing style is engaging and she managed to hook me in the story. The characters are believable and the scenarios realistic. The story is medium paced and gives ample time for the characters to develop.
I loved Kate who is strong, independent and stubborn. She is free-spirited without any pretension and had me wanting to be friends with her. Jack played the whole the scarred, hurt and angry with life cowboy who, although being good at heart is only known as a Casanova who uses and throws women at whim. The attraction between these two developed slowly and while it appealed to me because of its intensity and truthfulness of emotion, it also irritated and frustrated me at times. Maybe because I have never understood people’s fear of forming love relationships and their preference to shallow physical ones. Here both Kate and Jack love each other and are perfect for each other but still only comfortable with sex and ready to run at the first mention of love!
The other characters like Kate’s family are interesting people and intrigued me enough that I plan to read their stories too.
While I loved the story and was entertained, a few things felt incomplete like no closure was given to Jack’s father’s issue and no satisfactory closure given to the rift with his mother. I thought maybe his family angle would close but it didn’t. Maybe I’ll get to read about its end in the future books because I am truly eager to see how it all pans out.
All in all, Bad News Cowboy is an entertaining cowboy romance with complex characters but a lovely struggle. 4 out of 5 to it from me and recommended to romance lovers above the age of eighteen.
