Title: Call To Engage
ARC Book Review: Call to Engage (Team Poseidon #2) by Tawny Weber
Call to Engage by Tawny Weber is the second book in her Team Poseidon romantic suspense series which features tough, honor-bound SEALS, who form an elite Team called Team Poseidon tasked with sensitive missions that only these special trained SEALS can complete, and their strong, independent heroines.
I adored the first book, Call to Honor and was eager to get my hands on the next book. It is better to read the first book before you read this one because the action and the mission continue from there to this book.
In Call to Engage, we get Lieutenant Elijah Prescott’s story who I met in the previous book. He is an intense character who is still recuperating from a mission gone wrong and also facing suspicion of being in cohort with anti-government forces. He travels back home to rest and sort his life and comes face to face with a past that left his heart bruised and broken.
The romance is intense, hot and emotionally rich. The plot is crisp and so engaging that I could not keep the book down until I had reached the very end. I loved the chemistry between Elijah and Ava. Both are strong characters and have faced situations that left them unhappy and blaming each other. It shows the writing prowess of the author that narrated the events of the past in such a way that we get both sides of the story and could empathize with both Ava and Elijah.
There is drama, intrigue, betrayal, love, loyalty, suspense, espionage and full on entertainment in this book and I strongly recommend it to all lovers of suspense and romance above the age of eighteen.
Eager to read the next book, I give Call to Engage 4.5 stars out of 5.
I received an ARC for review and the above is my honest opinion.
