The Duke and I by Julia Quinn Book Review:
“Duke and I” by Julia Quinn is a delightful historical romance novel set in the early 19th century.
The novel is a masterful blend of romance, humor, and societal commentary. Quinn expertly weaves together the love story of Simon and Daphne with the intricate social expectations and norms of the time period. Then the Bridgerton family, of which Daphne is a part, adds a rich layer of depth and humor to the story. Thereby, making it a heartwarming and enjoyable read.
One of the highlights of “Duke and I” is the Bridgerton family itself. They are each unique and lovable in their own way. The interactions and banter between the siblings add depth and humor to the story. And readers will find themselves invested in the lives of not just Daphne and Simon, but the entire family.
Then I also loved how Simon overcame his stammer. Plus the comic timing, and the anonymous juicy gossip provider columnist add more fun and enjoyment to this already engrossing read.

Things that could be better:
While I loved Simon and Daphne’s romance journey, I could not agree with Daphne’s actions in one scene where she dupes Simon. With someone so steadfastly against something, I would have loved it had she tried to change his mind through different means. You will get what I am saying when you read the book.
