Inside is a letter that opens with,
“My Dearest Catherine, I miss you my darling, as I always do, but today is particularly hard because the ocean has been singing to me, and the song is that of our life together….”
Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks Quote
For Garrett, the message is the only way he knows to express his undying love for a woman he has lost. For Theresa, wary of romance since her husband shattered her trust, the message raises questions that intrigue her. Challenged by the mystery, and driven to find Garrett by emotions she does not fully understand, Theresa begins a search that takes her to a sunlit coastal town and an unexpected confrontation.
Brought together either by chance or something more powerful, Theresa and Garrett’s lives come together in a tale that resonates with our deepest hopes for finding everlasting love. Shimmering with suspense and emotional intensity, Message in a Bottle takes readers on a hunt for the truth about a man and his memories, and about both the heartbreaking fragility and enormous strength of love. For those who cherished The Notebook and readers waiting to discover the magic of Nicholas Sparks’s storytelling, here is an achingly lovely novel of happenstance, desire, and the choices that matter most.
Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks Book Review:
Since time immemorial, messages have been sent in bottles and it is interesting to note that thrown to the waves they can end up anywhere with no certainty of reaching their designated recipient. But this bottle was found just three weeks after being thrown to the waves.
Theresa Osborne was walking by the beach when she found a bottle with a message. The message was to Catherine from Garrett but it shook Theresa with its intensity leaving her with emotions she could not define. Determined to find this mysterious Garrett, Theresa’s search takes her to a coastal town where Garrett lives. What happens next will shake you and leave you with myriad of emotions.
True love is rare, and it’s the only thing that gives life real meaning.”
Quotes from Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks is without doubt the master of weaving human emotions to make his stories truly remarkable. I had cried my eyes out reading “Nights In Rodanthe” and thought that was sure to be his best work but wait till you read this one and Message In A Bottle is even better!!
His style grabbed me from the beginning and I was left eagerly turning pages. The ease with which he creates a mental picture of the story settings like a beach with waves crashing on the rocks, a lone bottle with a mysterious message riding on the waves, the violent sea with death waves hell bent on destroying everything in their path etc. is remarkable and awe inspiring.
I really like this book which left me hurriedly wiping tears from my eyes to clear my blurred vision so that I could read ahead!
The last letter Garrett writes to Theresa which comes to her in a bottle left me feeling like my heart had been ripped out and stomped on. My heart sank and I felt each and every emotion felt by Theresa and even Garrett.
A masterpiece and a story not to be missed, I give Message In A Bottle deserving 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend this book to all romance lovers. If you have ever been in love or are in love then you need to read this book of bonds that were made for ever and about love that would remain strong even against destiny.
There are winds of destiny that blow when we least expect them. Sometimes they gust with the fury of a hurricane, sometimes they barely fan one’s cheek. But the winds cannot be denied, bringing as they often do a future that is impossible to ignore.”
