~Book Review~
Golden Heat by Ju Ephraime is the story of Bernie who despite the mannish name is a woman and that too, a very beautiful one and one who is employed by Andy Redfield to find his deceased father’s treasure. But while searching for the treasure, they are also very aware of the intense chemistry that they share. Will Andy and Bernie investigate this chemistry further?
Is there a happily-ever-after written for them?
This is the first book by the author I have read and I enjoyed the whole experience. Starting with the blurb, I liked the blurb shared in my post above better than the one I saw on Goodreads. This one is intriguing and definitely one that had me wanting to pick up the book.
The cover is average and with an interesting story like this one, it can be made better and more eye catching.
The plot is simple and yet delivered expertly. The author has an engaging writing style and she managed to keep me hooked right till the end. The story is well paced and doesn’t drag anywhere.
The characterization is beautifully done and I enjoyed meeting Bernie and Andy. They are both independent and always butting heads with each other. Their fiery exchanges full of intense chemistry had me grinning and then rooting for their happily-ever-after. They are so perfect together!
I also loved meeting Bernie’s family and would love to read their story too, someday.
Andy’s half sister is sweet but not much is told about her and I felt this absence.
All in all, Golden Heat is an enjoyable read and I knew where it was headed but still enjoyed it. I spent an afternoon entertained by this book. 4 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. I liked Ju’s writing style where she mixes emotions, good storytelling with sensuality and heat well.

~About the Author~
Ju Ephraime began writing professionally at age 19; at that time, she wrote short stories for the local radio station in her home town. She gave up writing to pursue her education and has since earned several degrees, including two Masters and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University in Boston. During the course of her schooling, she wrote and published a working curriculum for a career school, a business manual and its answer key, as well as other literary work. In 2010 she revisited her first love, writing for fun and enjoyment. She writes high heat, steamy, romance novels. The first was, State of Ecstasy in the LaCasse series, which was soon followed by, Temptation to Sin, Loving Therèse, #2 in the LaCasse series. Ju has gone on to write several more books, including, The Odor of Violet, on tour this month, Complete Surrender, #3 in the LaCasse series; as well as, a Christmas Novella, Footsteps in the Sand and her award winning paranormal, White Magic Woman, Quarterfinalist in Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest, 2013, out of over 10,000 entrants.
Ju lives in Connecticut, where she is very active in her community. She is the administrator of a business school and the president of a non-profit organization that dresses individuals for job interviews.
